Joint Health and Safety Part II Certification - Industrial
This course has been designed to provide participants with an understanding of hazards commonly found in production, maintenance, or industrial workplaces. Course topics include: equipment and machinery hazards (including machine safeguarding, conveyors, machine tools, power tools, and lifting devices), electricity, noise, traffic from mobile equipment, work-at-height, chemicals (including flammables and combustibles, acids and bases, and asbestos), welding, indoor air quality (including office IAQ, mould, illumination / lighting in production areas), confined spaces, housekeeping, and ergonomics (including manual lifts, hand tools, and vibration). This course meets the mandated requirements set out by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s (WSIB’s) Certification Training Program Standard.

Note: Joint Health and Safety Committee Member Certification is a 2-step process requiring successful completion of Part 1 (Basic) and Part 2 (Workplace-Specific or Sector-Specific Hazard Training). Employers of participants seeking Part 2 Certification are expected to conduct a hazard assessment to determine the "significant hazards" present at their workplace and to train prospective certified member in those hazards. Upon completion of training, participants must submit a completed copy of the Workplace Specific Hazard Training Confirmation Form (#3189A) to WSIB for final certification.
