| This course has been
designed to provide participants with an understanding of hazards commonly found in
production, maintenance, or industrial workplaces. Specific topics include:
equipment/machinery hazards (including machine safeguarding, conveyors, machine tools,
power tools, hand tools, and lifting devices), electricity, noise, traffic hazards from
mobile equipment, work-at-height, industrial chemicals (including asbestos), welding,
indoor air quality (including mould and illumination / lighting issues), confined spaces,
housekeeping, and ergonomic issues (including manual lifting, and the effects of
