| The Environmental Protection
Department (EPD) of Barbados has recently established a register of persons who are deemed
to be trained and certified to remove asbestos, or to supervise projects where asbestos
containing materials (ACMs) are known to be present. This programme is specifically to
afford such persons the opportunity to further develop their skills and knowledge base, as
well as to facilitate individuals who are seeking approval to be included in the EPD's
register. Topics include Health Effects of Asbestos Exposure, Conducting an Asbestos Risk
Assessment, Abatement Methods / Means of Control and - Handling and disposal of Asbestos
